Addis Ababa to host 4th Cuba-Africa Solidarity Conference Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, Clara M. Pullido, has announced that Addis Ababa will be hosting the 4th Cuba –Africa Solidarity Conference September 22nd -23rd this year. The Conference is aimed at fostering relations between Africa and Cuba. The Ambassador noted that Addis Ababa had been selected as host at the 3rd Cuba-Africa Solidarity Conference which was held in Angola. She said that the exemplary bilateral relations between Ethiopia with Cuba and the fact that Addis Ababa was host to major continental bodies contributed to the decision. The Ambassador underlined the growth of Ethio-Cuba relations. She said that Cuba was working with Ethiopia in such areas as the eradication of malaria, in transforming biotechnology, animal health, the sugar industry and in technical support for Technical and Vocational Training Institutes (TVET). According to the Ambassador, the Cuban government has provided 15 professors to seven Ethiopian Universities and eight medical doctors to four public hospitals as backup to technology transfer efforts.
